Why Wedding Florists Don’t Have Price Sheets (and What That Means for You)

Understanding custom pricing, labor costs, and what most couples receive at different floral investment levels.

If you’ve ever felt frustrated while wedding planning because vendors don’t list clear prices on their websites, you’re not alone. This conversation comes up often online, especially among brides trying to build a realistic budget early in the planning process. Transparency matters, and we believe in it. At the same time, there’s a very real reason most wedding vendors (especially florists) don’t offer simple price sheets or package options.

The short answer? Weddings are incredibly custom and florals are never one-size-fits-all.

Why Wedding Florals Aren’t “Menu Priced”

No two weddings are the same. Some couples prioritize premium or specialty blooms. Some prefer seasonal, budget-conscious flowers. Some want florals everywhere - ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, installations - while others want to keep things simple with just personal flowers. Every one of these choices changes the overall cost.

Floristry isn’t a retail product you can add to a cart. Every wedding is designed from scratch based on your priorities, guest count, venue, season, and aesthetic. While we do have baseline pricing to guide proposals, final numbers can fluctuate depending on your vision and logistics.

Let’s Talk About Labor (Because Flowers Don’t Magically Arrive Ready)

One of the biggest misconceptions about wedding florals is that most of the cost is simply “flowers.” In reality, a significant portion of your investment covers skilled labor…and a LOT of it.

Here’s what happens behind the scenes:

  • Flower processing: When flowers arrive, someone may spend an entire day cleaning stems, stripping foliage, trimming, and placing flowers into proper hydration solutions so they last through your wedding day.

  • Mechanic preparation: Vases don’t allow us to simply “chop and drop” flowers in. Each vessel is prepped with chicken wire, floral tape, or other mechanics to keep designs stable and intentional.

  • Daily care: Flowers are returned to the cooler every night to maintain freshness and quality.

  • Design time: Creating balanced, emotionally impactful florals takes years of experience and training. This skill doesn’t happen overnight and the people doing this work are paid professionals.

  • Planning + admin: Each wedding includes a consultation (typically an hour), proposal creation, revisions, emails, sometimes a venue visit, flower ordering, and timeline coordination, and a final meeting.

  • Cleanup: Floristry is a working studio environment, which means constant cleanup during prep and full cleanup after events.

Labor is typically charged as a percentage of your floral total because it scales with the size and complexity of your wedding.

Delivery, Setup & Logistics Matter More Than You Think

Delivery fees depend on where your venue is located and when we’re allowed access. Tight load-in windows often require larger teams to execute safely and on time, while early access may reduce staffing needs. These logistical details directly impact labor and cost.

What Different Floral Budgets Typically Look Like

To help give clarity, here are examples of what couples typically receive at different investment levels. These are estimated ranges before tax and meant to guide expectations, not lock you into a box.

Budget Bride (Personal Flowers Only)

Best for couples who want elevated, intentional personal flowers without décor or installations.

  • Bridal bouquet: $250

  • 5 bridesmaid bouquets: $85 each

  • Groom boutonniere: $30

  • 5 groomsmen boutonnieres: $30 each

  • Labor: 20% of floral total

  • Pickup from studio (no delivery fee)

Estimated total before tax: $950–$1,100

Perfect for intimate weddings or couples who prefer to focus florals on people rather than spaces.

Standard Requests (Very Common Starting Point)

A balanced option that includes personal flowers plus meaningful ceremony and reception design.

  • Bridal bouquet: $295

  • 4 bridesmaid bouquets: $95 each

  • Groom boutonniere: $30

  • 4 groomsmen boutonnieres: $30 each

  • Ceremony design (aisle markers, standard arch, or ground meadow): $700–$2,000

  • Head table floral design: $500–$1,000

  • Labor: 20% of floral total

  • Delivery + setup: $300–$1,000

  • Strike/teardown: $350

Estimated total before tax: $3,000–$6,000

From here, couples often add cocktail table arrangements, guest table centerpieces, candles, or repurposing ceremony florals into the reception.

Flower-Forward Weddings

Designed for couples who want florals to make a strong visual impact throughout the entire day.

  • Bridal bouquet: $325

  • 5 bridesmaid bouquets: $95 each

  • Groom boutonniere: $30

  • 5 groomsmen boutonnieres: $30 each

  • Ceremony florals: $700–$3,000

  • Ceremony-to-reception flip: $250

  • Reception centerpieces: $100 each (example: 20 tables)

  • Head table floral design: $800–$1,500

  • Labor: 20% of floral total

  • Delivery + setup: $500–$1,000

  • Strike/teardown: $450

Estimated total before tax: $6,500–$10,500+

This level creates a fully immersive floral experience with cohesive design from ceremony through reception.

Don’t Forget Candles

Candles are often assumed to be a simple add-on, but they also require investment. Candles must be purchased, transported, styled, and then after the event, painstakingly cleaned. Removing wax from glass is one of the most labor-intensive post-event tasks, and it’s an important factor in pricing.

The Bottom Line

We believe in transparency and we also believe in honoring the reality of custom work. Our goal is never to upsell, but to help couples invest intentionally in what matters most to them, with clarity and confidence every step of the way.
